Blitar City's 2023 Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp8,515.16 billion. This represents a 5.29% growth compared to the previous year's Rp7,833.94 billion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth had fallen by 2.28%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 159,410, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp55,520,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 191st.
Of the 17 sectors driving the region's economy, the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector is the leading contributor.
The wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector holds the top position. In 2023, this sector contributed the largest amount to the GRDP, reaching Rp2.13 trillion, with a growth of 4.69%.
Second is the information and communication sector, growing by 6.45% to Rp905.17 billion, followed by the financial and insurance services sector with a GRDP of Rp887.43 billion (3.12%).
Rounding out the top five is the construction sector with a GRDP of Rp610.3 billion. This sector showed a 6.5% growth compared to the previous year's Rp554.04 billion.
