Indonesia Food Price Update Today: Salt Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall (Thursday, February 29, 2024)

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (29/2/2024) at 14:33 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, bulk wheat flour, iodized fine salt, granulated sugar, and broiler eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, red chilies, curly red chilies, simple packaged cooking oil, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt saw the highest price increase, up by Rp110 (0.95%) to Rp11,660 per kg. Curly red chilies saw the lowest price decrease, down by Rp1,250 (1.84%) to Rp66,520 per kg.
