Without Oil and Gas, Aceh's Economy Slows to 2.79% Growth in Q3 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the growth of Aceh's regional gross domestic product (RGDP) excluding oil and gas was 2.79% year-on-year (yoy) in the third quarter of 2021. This growth slowed from 5.98% (yoy) in the second quarter of 2021.

However, Aceh's economy experienced growth when the oil and gas sector was included. Aceh's RGDP increased by 2.82% (yoy) in the third quarter of 2021, higher than the previous quarter's 2.56% (yoy).

By business sector, 11 sectors experienced positive growth. The highest growth came from the transportation and warehousing sector at 17.07% (yoy). This was followed by real estate at 12.73%, information and communication at 11.98%, and business services at 9.89%.

Next, health services and social activities followed with growth of 9.24% (yoy). The mining and quarrying sector grew by 9.17% (yoy).

On the other hand, six business sectors experienced contraction. The highest contraction came from the provision of accommodation and food and beverage services at 13.52% (yoy).
