Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra: Onion and Rice Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (March 24, 2025) at 13:41 WIB, out of 24 commodities, 16 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, broiler chicken, curly red chilies, chicken eggs, and Minyakita cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, tongkol fish, bulk wheat flour, SPHP rice, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp3,346 (7.92%), reaching Rp45,615 per kg. Tongkol fish experienced the largest price decrease of Rp458 (1.15%), reaching Rp39,453 per kg.
