South Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Salt Prices Up, Chili Prices Down (Thursday, January 4, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (4/1/2024) at 08.41 WIB, out of 19 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are pure beef, garlic bulbs, premium rice, fine iodized salt, and bulk wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium rice, red chilies, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), dry soybean (import), and chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of fine iodized salt saw the highest increase of Rp1,260 (11.22%), reaching Rp12,490 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of milkfish experienced the largest decrease of Rp6,180 (21.93%), reaching Rp22,000 per kg.
