Yudo Margono Officially Appointed as TNI Commander Candidate; What is the Value of His Assets?

President Joko Widodo has nominated Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Yudo Margono as the new Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). This nomination aims to replace General Andika Perkasa, who will retire on December 21, 2022.

Yudo's nomination was announced through a Presidential Letter (Surpres) proposing the new TNI Commander, submitted by the government to the House of Representatives (DPR) last Wednesday (November 23rd). The letter was delivered by the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno and received by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani.

"On this occasion, I will announce that the name proposed by the president to replace TNI Commander General Andika is Admiral TNI Yudo Margono," said Puan, as quoted by CNN Indonesia on Monday (November 28th).

Based on data from the State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN) on the official website of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Admiral Yudo Margono's total assets reached Rp17.97 billion in 2021.

The majority of Yudo's assets consist of land and buildings. The total value of all his land and buildings reaches Rp10.45 billion.

Yudo owns 51 units of land and buildings spread across Sidoarjo Regency/City, Surabaya Regency/City, Bekasi Regency/City, Sorong Regency/City, Bogor Regency/City, Tangerang Regency/City, and Madiun Regency/City.

In addition, Yudo Margono also owns five transportation tools and machinery with a total value of Rp1.63 billion. Other movable assets amount to Rp365 million, and cash and cash equivalents amount to Rp5.52 billion.

On the other hand, Yudo is recorded as having no debts of any kind. Therefore, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral TNI Yudo Margono is recorded as having total assets of Rp 17,970,088,086 (Rp17.9 billion).
