Sumatera Selatan Food Prices Today: Onion Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (24/8/2024) at 10:29 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), shallots, iodized fine salt, dry soybean (import), and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, pure beef, chicken eggs, granulated sugar, and mackerel have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots experienced the highest price increase of Rp350 (1.55%), reaching Rp22,910 per kg. Mackerel experienced the largest price decrease of Rp5,330 (16.57%), reaching Rp26,830 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas on August 24, 2024, at 10:29 WIB.

6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,140 per kg (down 0.59%)
7. Mackerel: Rp26,830 per kg (down 16.57%)
8. Milkfish: Rp26,780 per kg (up 0.3%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp26,170 per kg (down 1.58%)
10. Red Onion: Rp22,910 per kg (up 1.55%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,280 per kg (down 0.86%)
