Prices of Curly Red Chilies in Traditional Markets, May 2024-2025

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of curly red chilies in traditional markets in South Sumatra Province is recorded at Rp67,500. This price is up Rp3,100 compared to the previous day.

Compared to 30 days ago, the daily price of curly red chilies in traditional markets has increased from Rp58,500.

Meanwhile, the daily price of curly red chilies in traditional markets in South Sumatra over the past three months has increased by 104.55% from the previous record of Rp33,000.

The record high for the daily price of curly red chilies in traditional markets in this province was previously recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 83.24%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in March 2022 with a decrease of -47.18%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in South Sumatra show seven commodities decreased and 19 others increased. The basic commodities with price decreases are Medium Quality Grade II Rice, Fresh Layer Chicken Eggs daily in Traditional Markets by Province, Daily Chicken Eggs in Traditional Markets by Province, Daily Chili Peppers in Traditional Markets by Province, Daily Green Chili Peppers in Traditional Markets by Province, Fresh Broiler Chicken Meat daily in Traditional Markets by Province, and Daily Chicken Meat in Traditional Markets by Province.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to price developments over the past month in South Sumatra Province:

3. Medium Quality Grade II Rice per Kg Rp15,500 (down 0.64%)
4. Low Quality Grade II Rice per Kg Rp13,200 (unchanged)
5. Low Quality Grade I Rice per Kg Rp13,600 (up 0.74%)
6. Granulated Sugar per Kg daily in Traditional Markets by Province Rp18,250 (up 0.55%)
7. Medium Quality Grade I Rice per Kg Rp15,350 (unchanged)
