Indonesia's Latest Food Prices: Onions Up, Chilies Down (Tuesday, April 16, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be lower compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (16/4/2024) at 16:52 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 6 commodities increased in price and 13 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged simple cooking oil, farmer-level corn, Indian mackerel, granulated sugar, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, iodized fine salt, medium rice, chicken eggs, and curly red chilies decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase of Rp1,740 (3.84%) to Rp47,000 per kg. Curly red chilies saw the lowest price decrease of Rp3,980 (8.09%) to Rp45,220 per kg.

7. Indian Mackerel: Rp37,730 per kg (up 1.23%)

9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp32,840 per kg (down 0.58%)
