Current Food Prices in East Java: Chili Prices Up, Salt Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (5/7/2024) at 10:53 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk cooking oil, granulated sugar, red chilies, garlic bulbs, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as Indian mackerel, SPHP rice, fine iodized salt, simple packaged cooking oil, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,420 (4.11%) to Rp35,990 per kg. Fine iodized salt experienced the sharpest price drop, decreasing Rp290 (3.18%) to Rp8,840 per kg.

9. Red Onion: Rp27,800 per kg (down 1.77%)
