North Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Salt, Sugar, and Onion Prices Rise (Monday, January 22, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Monday (22/1/2024) at 12:36 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, granulated sugar, bulk cooking oil, bulk wheat flour, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, broiler chicken, simple packaged cooking oil, red cayenne pepper, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,510 (4.5%) to Rp35,060 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of milkfish saw the largest decrease, dropping Rp26,890 (77.63%) to Rp7,750 per kg.
