Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Onions Up, Rice Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be higher compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (22/9/2024) at 09.58 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include chicken eggs, premium rice, farmer-level corn, garlic bulbs, and curly red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, simple packaged cooking oil, granulated sugar, dry soybean (import), and red chili peppers decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn experienced the highest price increase of Rp2,870 (51.9%) to Rp8,400 per kg. Meanwhile, medium rice saw the largest price decrease of Rp680 (4.43%) to Rp14,660 per kg.

6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp36,470 per kg (down 0.41%)
7. Curly Red Chilies: Rp34,630 per kg (up 5.13%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,680 per kg (up 0.53%)
9. Red Onions: Rp26,320 per kg (up 13.84%)
10. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,750 per kg (down 1.11%)
