Indonesia's Daily Food Prices: Chili and Rice Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (15/8/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, iodized fine salt, garlic cloves, premium rice, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, red chilies, pure beef, milkfish, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel prices surged the highest by Rp3,310 (8.98%) to Rp40,190 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili prices fell the most sharply by Rp4,900 (7.57%) to Rp59,830 per kg.

8. Milkfish: Rp32,410 per kg (down 1.16%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp29,120 per kg (up 1.32%)
10. Red Onion: Rp25,990 per kg (down 0.19%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp18,190 per kg (up 1.45%)
