North Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Corn Prices Up, Chili Prices Down (Saturday, December 23, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 12:41 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are farmer-level corn, skipjack tuna, dry soybean (import), garlic cloves, and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as pure beef, broiler chicken, red chili peppers, shallots, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn experienced the highest price increase, jumping by Rp170 (2.72%) to Rp6,410 per kg. Red chili peppers saw the lowest price decrease, falling by Rp23,660 (32.2%) to Rp49,820 per kg.
