Central Java Food Prices Thursday (4/7): Salt Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (4/7/2024) at 09.11 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are medium-grain rice, fine iodized salt, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), bulk wheat flour, and garlic cloves.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, pure beef, red chilies, bulk cooking oil, and broiler chicken decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Fine iodized salt saw the highest price increase of Rp1,720 (15.06%) to Rp13,140 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili peppers saw the sharpest price decrease of Rp3,440 (9.69%) to Rp32,050 per kg.

8. Red Chili Peppers: Rp32,050 per kg (down 9.69%)
9. Shallots: Rp28,940 per kg (down 6.95%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp26,770 per kg (down 2.51%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,490 per kg (up 2.64%)
