Latest Indonesian Food Prices: Oil Up, Onions Down

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Monday (27/5/2024) at 13:36 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include simple packaged cooking oil, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), skipjack tuna, garlic bulbs, and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as dry soybean seeds (import), Indian mackerel, shallots, premium rice, and broiler chicken decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of corn at the farmer level saw the highest increase, jumping by Rp60 (1.07%) to Rp5,680 per kg. The price of shallots saw the lowest decrease, dropping by Rp290 (0.61%) to Rp47,230 per kg.
