Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Sugar and Oil Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (15/12/2024) at 11:19 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased in price and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, iodized fine salt, bulk cooking oil, granulated sugar, and Indian mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken, garlic cloves, SPHP rice, pure beef, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest by Rp7,700 (22.76%) to Rp41,530 per kg. Broiler chicken prices, on the other hand, decreased the most by Rp1,030 (2.75%) to Rp36,470 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on December 15, 2024, at 11:19 WIB.

6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp38,230 per kg (up 1.19%)
7. Broiler Chicken: Rp36,470 per kg (down 2.75%)
8. Curly Red Chilies: Rp31,380 per kg (up 2.62%)
9. Red Onion: Rp30,150 per kg (down 0.72%)
