Ogan Komering Ilir Regency's 2023 Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp37.4 trillion. This represents a 5.02% growth compared to the previous year's Rp34.24 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period in 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID growth was recorded at only 0.24%.
According to BPS publications, with a total population of 774,470, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp46,890 per capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 254th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the economy in this regency, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries are the leading sectors.
Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries rank first. In 2023, this sector contributed the largest share to the GRDP, reaching Rp19.5 trillion, a 3.22% increase.
The construction sector grew by 7.03% to Rp5.22 trillion, followed by the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector, which ranked third, growing by 9.31% to Rp4.25 trillion.
Other sectors contributing to the top five include government administration, defense, and mandatory social security, with a GRDP of Rp1.5 trillion.
