East Java Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down (Thursday, February 8, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (8/2/2024) at 12:13 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include broiler chicken, red chilies, skipjack tuna, chicken eggs, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, medium rice, premium rice, Indian mackerel, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp2,480 (4.54%) to Rp57,140 per kg. Meanwhile, shallots saw the lowest price decrease, dropping Rp230 (0.91%) to Rp24,990 per kg.
