S&P Global reported that Indonesia's manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) rose to 51.3 in July 2022, up from 50.2 the previous month. This is the highest level in the last three months.

"Price pressures eased in July. Both input costs and output charges increased at a slower pace than for over a year, alleviating some business concerns. Nevertheless, upside risks to prices remain, as fuel and raw material costs continue to fuel inflation," she said.

In line with rising domestic demand, manufacturing companies added to their workforce at the sharpest rate in the 11-year survey history. Companies' expectations for demand next year also improved, following the PMI's increase since last April.
