Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Red Chili Prices Up, Onions Down

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (August 5, 2025) at 12:17 PM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 5 commodities increased and 18 decreased.

Commodities with price increases include farmer-level corn, bulk wheat flour, large red chili, medium rice, and broiler eggs.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as milkfish, consumption sugar, packaged wheat flour, shallots, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn surged the most by Rp250 (4.0%) to Rp6,500 per kg. Meanwhile, shallot prices dropped the deepest by Rp1,104 (2.14%) to Rp50,444 per kg.
