Latest South Sumatra Food Prices: Red Chili Prices Rise, Rice Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (28/3/2025) at 14.04 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 15 commodities increased in price and 4 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour, curly red chilies, granulated sugar, skipjack tuna, and red chili peppers.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, SPHP rice, dry soybean (import), and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Large red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp8,330 (16.43%), reaching Rp59,034 per kg. Meanwhile, SPHP rice experienced the largest price decrease of Rp17 (0.14%), reaching Rp12,386 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 23 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas on March 28, 2025, at 14.04 WIB.

8. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp34,642 per kg (up 0.71%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,420 per kg (up 0.03%)
10. Milkfish: Rp28,393 per kg (up 1.34%)
11. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,875 per kg (up 0.87%)
