Latest Indonesian Food Prices: Onions Up, Oil Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (16/8/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 16 commodities increased and 5 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include red onions, skipjack tuna, granulated sugar, SPHP rice, and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as simple packaged cooking oil, milkfish, pure beef, fine iodized salt, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red onions saw the highest price increase of Rp1,720 (6.67%), reaching Rp27,510 per kg. Milkfish experienced the sharpest price drop of Rp510 (1.54%), reaching Rp32,640 per kg.
