Latest South Sumatra Food Prices: Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (9/6/2024) at 08.37 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include milkfish, bulk cooking oil, red chilies, simple packaged cooking oil, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, medium rice, fine iodized salt, pure beef, and chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp7,420 (14.23%) to Rp59,580 per kg. Meanwhile, shallots saw the lowest price decrease, dropping Rp2,890 (6.42%) to Rp42,160 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 20 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas as of June 9, 2024, at 08.37 WIB.

5. Garlic Bulbs: Rp37,990 per kg (down 4.07%)
6. Chicken Meat: Rp34,960 per kg (up 3.16%)
7. Mackerel: Rp32,330 per kg (up 0.69%)
8. Milkfish: Rp28,370 per kg (up 5.27%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,890 per kg (up 2.01%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp27,000 per kg (down 1.71%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,740 per kg (down 0.89%)
