In 2016, state revenue reached only Rp 1,551.8 trillion, or 86.9 percent of the revised state budget (APBN-P) target of Rp 1,786.2 trillion. Tax revenue amounted to Rp 1,283.6 trillion (86.6 percent of the APBN-P target), while non-tax revenue reached Rp 262.4 trillion (107 percent). Grants reached Rp 5.83 trillion, or 295.2 percent of the 2016 APBN-P target.
Meanwhile, 2016 state expenditure realization reached only Rp 1,859.5 trillion, or 89.3 percent of the APBN-P target of Rp 2,082.9 trillion. Central government expenditure reached Rp 1,148.6 trillion (87.9 percent), and transfers to regions and village funds reached Rp 710.86 trillion (91.6 percent of the 2016 APBN-P target).
As a result, the 2016 APBN realized a deficit of Rp 307.7 trillion, or approximately 2.46 percent. This figure is higher than the APBN-P deficit of Rp 296.7 trillion (2.35 percent). Budget financing reached Rp 330.3 trillion.
