Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Salt Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (12/7/2024) at 09.17 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are dry soybean (import), medium rice, premium rice, chicken eggs, and fine iodized salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as curly red chilies, milkfish, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), SPHP rice, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Fine iodized salt saw the highest price increase of Rp1,160 (7.38%) to Rp16,870 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of Indian mackerel decreased the most, by Rp8,870 (18.27%) to Rp39,690 per kg.
