Residents of Central Halmahera Regency spend Rp29.39 per capita per week on glutinous rice.

In Halmahera Tengah Regency in 2023, per capita weekly expenditure on glutinous rice was Rp29.39. This is lower than the previous year's expenditure of Rp48.65 per capita per week.

Per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, divided by the number of household members. This expenditure can be categorized into two parts: food and non-food.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food expenditure is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

The five largest components of the population's expenditure on cereals in Halmahera Tengah Regency, in descending order, are: premium quality rice (Rp23,200 per capita per week), wheat flour (Rp1,076.02 per capita per week), corn with husks (Rp409.5 per capita per week), glutinous rice (Rp29.39 per capita per week), and the lowest expenditure is on shelled corn/corn grits (Rp4.95 per capita per week).

According to a publication by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp2.05 million per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 72.52% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.19 million per capita per month.

Based on region, the highest per capita expenditure on glutinous rice is in Puncak Jaya Regency and the lowest is in Sampang Regency. Halmahera Tengah Regency ranks 362nd in terms of glutinous rice expenditure. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure on glutinous rice is Rp247 per capita per week.
