Latest Food Prices in Papua Region: Chili Pepper Up, Red Chili Down

Prices of several food commodities in Papua today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (August 12, 2025) at 10:19 AM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 5 commodities increased and 18 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include Minyakita cooking oil, skipjack tuna, premium rice, SPHP rice, and red bird's eye chili.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as large red chili, dried soybean (imported), consumption salt, broiler eggs, and packaged wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna surged the highest by Rp5,179 (11.89%) to Rp48,750 per kg. The price of large red chili, however, dropped most sharply by Rp78,333 (100.0%) to Rp0 per kg.

3. Curly Red Chili: Rp80,000 per kg (down 1.12%)
4. Milkfish: Rp55,000 per kg (down 1.92%)
5. Mackerel: Rp53,000 per kg (down 0.62%)
6. Shallots: Rp50,000 per kg (down 29.4%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp48,750 per kg (up 11.89%)
8. Garlic Bulb: Rp45,000 per kg (down 15.02%)
9. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp40,333 per kg (down 1.14%)
10. Broiler Eggs: Rp36,250 per kg (down 0.61%)
11. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp21,833 per liter (down 5.96%)
12. Consumption Sugar: Rp19,833 per kg (down 3.15%)
13. Minyakita: Rp19,400 per liter (up 1.26%)
14. Premium Rice: Rp18,667 per kg (up 1.45%)
15. Medium Rice: Rp16,167 per kg (down 1.2%)
16. Packaged Wheat Flour: Rp14,833 per kg (down 5.75%)
