Top Performing Stock Sectors Favored by Young Investors: What Are They?

Stock investment is currently popular and favored by young people. Several stock sectors are considered to have good investment prospects.

The financial sector is the most preferred stock sector among young people. This is based on a survey by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) which shows that the majority, or 36.1% of respondents, favor this stock sector.

The mining sector ranks second as the most popular stock sector among young people, with a percentage of 15.6%.

11.8% of respondents stated a preference for the technology stock sector. Furthermore, 11.5% of respondents favored the consumer goods stock sector.

Next, the infrastructure, utilities, and transportation stock sectors have a percentage of 7.5%. The trade, services, and investment stock sector accounts for 5%.

Then, 4% of respondents stated a preference for the diverse industrial stock sector. This is followed by the property and real estate sector at 3.4%, and agriculture and basic & chemical industries at 2.5% each.

This survey was conducted on 1,939 respondents aged 15 and above who have investments throughout Indonesia. The online survey was conducted from September 6-12, 2021, using a non-probability sampling method with a margin of error of ± 2.23%.
