Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Rice Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday's.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (5/9/2024) at 16.13 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 5 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are wheat flour (bulk), medium rice, garlic bulbs, skipjack tuna, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, bulk cooking oil, milkfish, curly red chilies, and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna prices surged the highest by Rp1,310 (3.59%) to Rp37,790 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili prices decreased the most by Rp11,200 (17.36%) to Rp53,320 per kg.
