South Sumatra Food Prices Thursday (16/5): Chili Prices Up, Chicken Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (16/5/2024) at 17.31 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 5 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, red chilies, curly red chilies, dry soybean (import), and garlic cloves.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium rice, broiler chicken meat, premium rice, chicken eggs, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp2,110 (5.5%) to Rp40,460 per kg. Broiler chicken meat had the lowest price decrease of Rp290 (0.8%) to Rp36,100 per kg.
