Bali's Current Food Prices: Oil Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in Bali today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Tuesday (4/6/2024) at 08.38 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include pure beef, simple packaged cooking oil, mackerel, skipjack tuna, and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, shallots, red chilies, chicken eggs, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel experienced the highest price increase of Rp4,880 (13.0%) to Rp42,430 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chilies decreased the most, by Rp6,190 (15.39%) to Rp34,020 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 20 food commodities in Bali according to Bapanas as of June 4, 2024, at 08.38 WIB.

4. Milkfish: Rp40,000 per kg (up 8.25%)
5. Garlic Bulb: Rp36,770 per kg (down 2.6%)
6. Shallots: Rp36,340 per kg (down 1.12%)
7. Curly Red Chilies: Rp34,020 per kg (down 15.39%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,000 per kg (up 9.61%)
9. Red Chilies: Rp28,540 per kg (down 7.43%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp27,660 per kg (down 0.29%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,670 per kg (up 0.28%)
12. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,660 per liter (up 0.74%)
