Food Prices Today, January 8 in DKI Jakarta: Red Chili Rises, Bird's Eye Chili Falls

The prices of several food items in DKI Jakarta today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the Basic Necessity Market Monitoring System of the Ministry of Trade (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (1/8/2026) at 2:44 PM WIB, out of 16 commodities, 1 commodity rose and 5 commodities fell.

The only commodity that increased in price was curly red chili.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, medium rice, large red chili, red bird's eye chili, and broiler chicken meat decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chili rose the most by Rp400 (0.81%) to Rp49,900 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red bird's eye chili dropped the most by Rp3,250 (4.85%) to Rp63,750 per kg.
