West Papua's Lowest Grade I Rice Price is the Nation's Highest (Friday, May 6, 2022)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of Rp 12,085 per kg for low-quality grade I rice (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces as of Friday, May 6, 2022. Overall, the average price this week increased compared to the previous week's average of Rp 12,080 per kg.

Low-quality grade I rice in modern markets in West Papua was the most expensive in Indonesia, with a selling price of Rp 12,850 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of low-quality grade I rice in this province remained unchanged. The highest price ever recorded in this region was Rp 13,200 per kg.

Meanwhile, in modern markets in Bangka Belitung Islands, low-quality grade I rice was sold at Rp 12,800 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Then, in third place, the price of low-quality grade I rice in East Kalimantan was Rp 12,750 per kg, Aceh Rp 12,500 per kg, and North Kalimantan Rp 12,500 per kg.

Meanwhile, four provinces had low-quality grade I rice sales below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for low-quality grade I rice were North Sulawesi, East Java, and Jambi.
