Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Oil Up, Rice Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (12/10/2024) at 08.28 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include curly red chilies, simple packaged cooking oil, bulk cooking oil, fine iodized salt, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium rice, pure beef, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), granulated sugar, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Bulk cooking oil experienced the highest price increase of Rp1,180 (7.54%) to Rp16,840 per liter. Farmer-level corn experienced the largest price decrease of Rp430 (7.13%) to Rp5,600 per kg.

3. Garlic Bulbs: Rp38,690 per kg (up 2.06%)
4. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp32,690 per kg (unchanged)
5. Mackerel: Rp31,180 per kg (down 3.29%)
6. Red Onion: Rp27,550 per kg (up 1.29%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,440 per kg (up 1.33%)
8. Milkfish: Rp26,520 per kg (down 1.89%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp25,500 per kg (down 2.67%)
10. Curly Red Chilies: Rp24,250 per kg (up 0.75%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp17,700 per liter (up 2.02%)
12. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,240 per kg (down 0.69%)
13. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp16,840 per liter (up 7.54%)
