North Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Salt Prices Rise, Chicken Prices Fall (Friday, January 12, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (12/1/2024) at 08:55 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include pure beef, simple packaged cooking oil, fine iodized salt, milkfish, and red chili peppers.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as curly red chilies, premium rice, farmer-level corn, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and mackerel decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Milkfish prices surged the highest by Rp12,600 (33.69%) to Rp50,000 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of skipjack tuna decreased the most by Rp5,500 (15.97%) to Rp28,930 per kg.

6. Red Onion: Rp35,340 per kg (down 6.01%)
7. Curly Red Chilies: Rp30,880 per kg (down 6.14%)
8. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp28,980 per kg (down 7.71%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp28,930 per kg (down 15.97%)
