Current Food Prices in Yogyakarta: Salt Prices Rise, Rice Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in Yogyakarta, D.I. today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, at 11:57 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 13 commodities increased in price and 7 decreased.

Commodities that saw price increases include granulated sugar, bulk cooking oil, dry soybeans (import), red chilies, and bulk wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, milkfish, medium rice, SPHP rice, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, jumping Rp3,910 (33.74%) to Rp15,500 per kg. Milkfish prices saw the sharpest decline, dropping Rp6,860 (17.88%) to Rp31,500 per kg.
