Aceh Jaya Regency's 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached Rp3,373.79 billion. This represents a 4.15% increase compared to the previous year's Rp3,121.53 billion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth recorded a decrease of 0.62%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 98,335, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp34,550,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 352nd.
Of the 17 sectors driving the economy in this regency, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries are the leading sectors.
The agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in Aceh Jaya Regency is the mainstay sector, contributing the largest share to the 2023 GRDP with a value of Rp1.13 trillion. This represents a 4.91% growth compared to the previous year's Rp1.03 trillion.
Following this is the construction sector, which grew by 2.56% to Rp506.67 billion, followed by the administration, defense, and compulsory social security sector in third place with a GRDP of Rp402.4 billion (3.11%).
Rounding out the top five is the transportation and warehousing sector with a GRDP of Rp269.42 billion. This sector recorded a growth of 5.83% compared to the previous year's Rp221.45 billion.

In terms of distribution, the main sector contributing the largest growth to the GRDP in Aceh Jaya Regency is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, with a contribution of 30.44%. Other sectors in the top five include construction, administration, defense and compulsory social security, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and transportation and warehousing.
