Wholesale Prices of Large Red Chilies in Central Java Increased by 16.17% in a Week

The price of large red chilies in Central Java reached Rp 83,000 per kg on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Compared to other regions, this was the highest price increase in the last week.

According to daily commodity price monitoring data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center, the price of large red chilies in Central Java increased by 16.17% within a week.

Compared to the price 30 days prior, the price of large red chilies in this region has increased by 32.38%. This signifies a significant surge within a month. Furthermore, compared to the last year's prices, the current selling price of large red chilies in Central Java's modern markets is the highest on record.

From January to April 2022, the price of large red chilies in modern markets continued to rise, increasing by 20.55% compared to the previous month.

The price of large red chilies reached its lowest point at Rp 52,650 per kg on Monday, February 7, 2022. The highest price reached this year was around Rp 83,000 per kg.

Nationally, the price of large red chilies began to rise towards the end of 2021. The average price of large red chilies in modern markets was Rp 79,160 per kg, a 1.71% increase compared to the end of the previous week.
