Central Java Food Prices Monday (July 15th): Salt Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (15/7/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 13 commodities increased in price and 8 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, bulk wheat flour, medium-grain rice, simple packaged cooking oil, and milkfish.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken, red chili peppers, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), pure beef, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp12,320 (115.36%) to Rp23,000 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chilies saw the steepest decrease, down by Rp11,100 (31.62%) to Rp24,000 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in Central Java according to Bapanas on July 15, 2024, at 08.01 WIB.

1. Pure Beef: Rp125,000 per kg (down 3.75%)
2. Milkfish: Rp37,000 per kg (up 12.74%)
3. Mackerel: Rp37,000 per kg (up 15.91%)
4. Skipjack Tuna: Rp37,000 per kg (up 17.31%)
5. Broiler Chicken: Rp36,000 per kg (down 0.77%)
6. Garlic Bulb: Rp35,000 per kg (down 3.93%)
7. Red Chili Peppers: Rp34,000 per kg (down 29.84%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,000 per kg (up 2.56%)
9. Curly Red Chilies: Rp24,000 per kg (down 31.62%)
10. Iodized Fine Salt: Rp23,000 per kg (up 115.36%)
11. Shallots: Rp23,000 per kg (down 16.21%)
12. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp18,000 per liter (up 4.96%)
13. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,500 per kg (up 2.88%)
