West Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Corn Prices Up, Chili Prices Down (Friday, December 22, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Friday (22/12/2023) at 11:44 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dry soybean (import), shallots, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), granulated sugar, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chili peppers, fine iodized salt, mackerel, broiler chicken, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of corn at the farmer level saw the highest increase of Rp180 (2.81%) to Rp6,590 per kg. The price of red chili peppers saw the lowest decrease of Rp3,380 (7.16%) to Rp43,800 per kg.
