Food Prices in East Java on Wednesday (28/8): Sugar, Chili, and Oil Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (28/8/2024) at 10:45 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased in price and 8 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, bulk wheat flour, dry soybean (import), chicken eggs, and garlic cloves.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, medium rice, skipjack tuna, bulk cooking oil, and broiler chicken decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of corn at the farmer level saw the highest increase, jumping by Rp240 (4.26%) to Rp5,880 per kg. The price of milkfish saw the largest decrease, dropping by Rp1,480 (4.53%) to Rp31,190 per kg.
