Indonesia's Annual Inflation Rose to 1.87% in December 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's inflation was recorded at 1.87% year-on-year (yoy) in December 2021. This inflation rate increased from the previous month's 1.75% (yoy).

The year-on-year inflation was driven by an increase in the food, beverages, and tobacco expenditure group. This group had an inflation rate of 3.09% (yoy).

The next highest inflation was in the food and beverage services/restaurants group at 2.68%. This was followed by the household goods, equipment, and routine maintenance group at 2.66%.

Similar inflation occurred year-to-date (ytd) at 1.87%. This inflation rate increased from the previous month's 1.3% (ytd).

Meanwhile, on a monthly basis, Indonesia's inflation was recorded at 0.57% (month-on-month/mom). This monthly inflation increased from the previous month's 0.37%.
