Current Food Prices in East Java: Prices of Oil, Sugar, and Chilies Drop

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (29/10/2024) at 15.32 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dry soybean (import), shallots, mackerel, garlic bulbs, and milkfish.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), bulk cooking oil, iodized fine salt, bulk wheat flour, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp630 (2.44%) to Rp26,470 per kg. Red chili peppers experienced the sharpest price drop, falling Rp1,770 (5.4%) to Rp31,010 per kg.
