Daily Prices of Large Red Chilies in North Sumatra Province's Modern Markets Increased by 1.8% in the Last Month

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of large red chilies in North Sumatra's modern markets is recorded at Rp93,200 per kg. This price remains unchanged compared to the previous day, and similarly, there has been no change in price over the past week.

However, compared to the price over the past month, the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets has increased from the previously recorded Rp91,550 per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets in North Sumatra over the past three months has decreased by 15.27%. According to historical food price records in the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of large red chilies in North Sumatra's modern markets was traded at Rp110,000 per kg.

The record high for the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in January 2024 with an increase of 99.61%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in April 2017 with a decrease of -62.92%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in North Sumatra show three commodities decreased and 23 others increased. The basic commodities with price decreases are fresh layer chicken eggs, fresh broiler chicken, and chicken eggs.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to price developments over the past month in North Sumatra Province:

2. Medium Quality I Rice per kg: Rp14,650 per kg (up 4.27%)
3. Curly Red Chili per kg: Rp60,350 per kg (up 51.44%)
4. Rice per kg: Rp14,750 per kg (up 3.51%)
5. Small Chili per kg: Rp59,050 per kg (up 52.78%)
6. Green Small Chili per kg: Rp48,200 per kg (up 19.75%)
7. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1 per kg: Rp22,900 per kg (up 5.29%)
8. Red Small Chili per kg: Rp69,850 per kg (up 88.78%)
9. Large Red Chili per kg: Rp93,200 per kg (up 1.8%)
10. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 per kg: Rp21,850 per kg (up 4.3%)
11. Fresh Layer Chicken Eggs per kg: Rp38,300 per kg (down 1.03%)
12. Garlic per kg: Rp48,600 per kg (up 22.26%)
13. Medium Quality II Rice per kg: Rp14,900 per kg (up 4.93%)
