Local Sugar Prices Highest in These 10 Provinces (Tuesday, October 18, 2022)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of IDR 13,860 per kg for local granulated sugar (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces, as of Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Overall, the average this week decreased compared to the previous week's average of IDR 13,870 per kg.

The daily price of local granulated sugar in modern markets in Gorontalo was the highest in Indonesia at IDR 17,000 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of local granulated sugar in this province remained unchanged. The highest price ever recorded in this region was IDR 21,000 per kg.

Meanwhile, in modern markets in Papua, the price of local granulated sugar was IDR 15,250 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Then, in third place, the price of local granulated sugar was IDR 15,000 per kg in West Papua, IDR 15,000 per kg in Riau, and IDR 14,500 per kg in East Nusa Tenggara.

Meanwhile, 21 provinces had local granulated sugar prices below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest local granulated sugar prices were DKI Jakarta, Lampung, and Riau Islands.
