Price of Large Red Chilies at Modern Market, May 2024-2025

Based on the National Strategic Food Price Information Center dashboard at 08:23 WIB, the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets in West Papua Province showed no change compared to the previous day, mirroring the trend of the past week.

However, compared to the last month, the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets has increased from the previous record of Rp86,650 per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets in West Papua over the past three months has increased by 27.25% from the previous trading price of Rp73,400 per kg.

The highest recorded increase in the daily price of large red chilies in modern markets in this province was in March 2025, with a 55.43% increase, while the lowest decrease was recorded in February 2024, at -28.74%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) in West Papua today show nine commodities decreased and 16 increased. The basic commodities with price decreases are Fresh Chicken Eggs, Medium-Sized Shallots, Chicken Eggs, Grade 2 Beef, Chicken Meat, Shallots, Green Chili Peppers, Fresh Broiler Chicken, and Beef.

The following are the prices of basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price trends over the past month in West Papua Province:

2. Fresh Chicken Eggs per Kg: Rp43,400 per kg (down 4.41%)
3. Medium-Sized Shallots per Kg: Rp61,750 per kg (down 6.44%)

5. Grade 2 Beef per Kg: Rp145,000 per kg (down 12.12%)
6. Medium-Sized Garlic per Kg: Rp60,750 per kg (up 3.85%)
