Local Sugar Prices Highest in These 10 Provinces (Thursday, August 15, 2024)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of local granulated sugar (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces at Rp 17,590 per kg as of Thursday, August 15, 2024. Overall, the average this week increased compared to last week's average of Rp 17,560 per kg.

The daily price of local granulated sugar in modern markets in Gorontalo was the highest in Indonesia, at Rp 23,000 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of local granulated sugar in this province is higher; previously recorded at Rp 12,000 per kg.

Meanwhile, in modern markets in West Papua, the price of local granulated sugar was sold at Rp 19,350 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Then, in third place, the price of local granulated sugar in Papua was Rp 18,500 per kg, Central Sulawesi Rp 18,400 per kg, and Southeast Sulawesi Rp 18,400 per kg.

Meanwhile, there are 18 provinces with local granulated sugar sales below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices of local granulated sugar are Bengkulu, DKI Jakarta, and Bangka Belitung Islands.
