Daily Red Chili Prices in North Sumatra Province's Modern Markets Increased by 6.96% in the Last Month

Based on the National Strategic Food Price Information Center dashboard at 17:23 WIB, the daily price of red chilies in North Sumatra's modern markets showed no change compared to the previous day or the last week.

However, over the past month, the daily price of red chilies in modern markets has increased from the previous record of Rp66,850 per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily price of red chilies in modern markets in North Sumatra over the past three months has decreased by 15.98%. According to historical food price records in the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of red chilies in North Sumatra's modern markets is traded at Rp85,100 per kg.

The record high for the daily price of red chilies in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in January 2024 with an increase of 125.37%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in August 2019 with a decrease of -52.8%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in North Sumatra show 14 commodities decreased and 14 others increased. Basic commodities with price decreases include Rice, Chili Peppers, Medium Quality Rice I, Medium Quality Rice II, Low Quality Rice II, Premium Sugar, Beef, Quality 1 Beef, Quality 2 Beef, Chicken Eggs, Low Quality Rice I, Fresh Chicken Eggs, Sugar, and Local Sugar.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to the price changes over the past month in North Sumatra province:

1. Rice per kg: Rp13,400 (down 5.63%)
2. Curly Red Chili per kg: Rp51,400 (up 47.28%)
3. Green Chili per kg: Rp40,250 (unchanged)
4. Large Red Chili per kg: Rp91,550 (unchanged)
5. Red Chili per kg: Rp42,050 (up 13.65%)
6. Packaged Branded Cooking Oil 2 per kg: Rp21,000 (up 2.69%)
7. Cooking Oil per kg: Rp21,500 (up 4.37%)
8. Red Chili per kg: Rp71,500 (up 6.96%)
9. Chili Pepper per kg: Rp41,150 (down 2.37%)
10. Medium Quality Rice I per kg: Rp13,300 (down 5%)
11. Garlic per kg: Rp44,400 (up 13.7%)
12. Medium Quality Rice II per kg: Rp12,650 (down 10.6%)
13. Low Quality Rice II per kg: Rp11,300 (down 16.61%)
14. Super Quality Rice I per kg: Rp16,000 (up 5.26%)
15. Super Quality Rice II per kg: Rp15,300 (up 1.66%)
