Investment Realization in the First Half of 2021 Remains Concentrated in Java

The Indonesian Investment Ministry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded that investment realization in Indonesia reached Rp 442.8 trillion in the first half of 2021. This figure is up 10% compared to the same period last year.

Of this amount, Rp 214.53 trillion, or 48.5%, of investment realization was in Java. Investment realization in Sumatra was recorded at Rp 47.86 trillion, or 21.7%.

Investment realization in Sulawesi reached Rp 47.86 trillion, or 10.8%. Investment realization in Kalimantan amounted to Rp 35.70 trillion, or 8.1%.

Furthermore, investment realization in Maluku and Papua totaled Rp 33.59 trillion, or 8.1%. Meanwhile, investment realization in Bali and Nusa Tenggara reached Rp 14.8 trillion, or 3.3%.

Indonesia's investment realization comprises domestic investment (PMDN) and foreign investment (PMA). The details are: PMDN realization amounted to Rp 214.3 trillion in January-June 2021, while PMA reached Rp 228.5 trillion.

Housing, industrial estates, and office buildings were the sectors with the largest investment realization during January-June 2021, accumulating Rp 60.7 trillion. This achievement was followed by the basic metal industry, metal goods, excluding machinery and equipment, which generated Rp 57.6 trillion.
